2022학년도는 대의파악의 난이도가 눈에 띄게 어려워졌죠?

앞으로도 대의파악에서 명시적인 주장 표현(연결사, 중요한 의미를 담은 부사 등)이 적어지거나

특정 부분만을 보고 답을 고를 수 있는 그런 스킬적인 측면은 줄어들 수 있습니다.

따라서, 이번 기회로 제대로 대의파악을 공부하는 습관을 가지시길 바랍니다.

자, 그러면 들어가기 전에 먼저 대의파악을 접근법을

안다면, 큰 그림을 가지고 필자가 이 글에서 전하는 취지를

정확하게 파악할 수 있습니다.

자 그럼 이번에 대의파악 중에서 어려워했던

23번과 24번 문제를 대표적으로 분석해 보겠습니다.

​

1. Scientists use paradigms rather than believing them.

아 ! 과학자들은 패러다임을 이해하는 게 아니라 "활용"하는 것이구나

​

2. The use of a paradigm in research typically addresses related problems

< (예시 나열) by employing shared concepts, symbolic expressions, experimental and mathematical tools and procedures,

and even some of the same theoretical statements >

패러다임 사용은 관련된 문제들을 전한다.

3. Scientists need only understand how to use these various elements in ways that others would accept.

여하튼 과학자는 이 구성요소(패러다임)을 사용하는 법을 이해하기만 하면 된다.

4. These elements of shared practice thus need not presuppose any comparable unity

Thomas Kuhn noted that scientists “can agree in their identification of a paradigm without agreeing on,

or even attempting to produce, a full interpretation or rationalization of it.

Lack of a standard interpretation or of an agreed reduction to rules will not prevent a paradigm from guiding research.”

-> 결국, 패러다임은 과학자들에게 일일이 설명 필요 없는 것들을 없애기 때문에

과학자들은 패러다임을 믿는다는 표현보다는 잘 활용하려 하는구나!

연슴삼아 살 붙이는 연습을 해보겠습니다.

Mending and restoring objects often require even more creativity than original production.

preindustrial blacksmith made things to order for people in his immediate community;

customizing the product, modifying or transforming it according to the user, was routine.

물건들을 고치는 것은 창의성이 필요하구나

그 예시로 산업이전 blacksmith가 나오네?

물건들을 어떻게 고쳤을까? 커스토마이징, 수정, 변형시켰었구나.

​

-> 아! 물건을 고친다는 것은 커스토마이징, 수정, 변형처럼 창의성이 필요한가봐!

​

​

With industrialization and eventually with mass production,

making things became the province of machine tenders with limited knowledge.

​

산업화 이후에는 제조라는 것은 이제 machine의 것이 되었다.

(아 그렇구나;;)

But repair continued to require a larger grasp of design and materials,

an understanding of the whole and a comprehension of the designer’s intentions.
